I obtained my PhD in 2000 (thesis here, supervisor Jeff Forshaw, examiners Sandy Donnachie and Michael Krämer, video with ceremony here) from the Particle Physics Group of the University of Manchester and worked at the Cavendish Laboratory, in the University of Cambridge, as a  PPARC Junior Fellow until the end of 2003.

In January of 2004 I moved to DESY, in Hamburg, to work as an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow until the end of 2005. Then I worked in Geneva as a CERN Research Fellow for three years (2006-2008) at the Theoretical Physics unit.

In 2009 I became a Ramón y Cajal Research Fellow at the Department of Theoretical Physics at Autónoma University in Madrid (UAM) and a researcher at the Instituto de Física Teórica UAM/CSIC.

In 2014 I became Profesor Contratado Doctor at UAM and, in 2022, Profesor Titular.
